Quick - post before September is over!

Been another busy month... I've posted some photos from Down Maddie's performance at Bushwacker's Saloon the other night (8/31)... thanks to our good friend, Kevin for these shots. It's not easy to capture the natural lighting of a place when it's really dark and everyone is moving, but as always, he did a great job! Much appreciated.

In further news, we're working on getting our MySpace page up and running and are continuing to add to our set list. We're a little over half way there now. In the mean time, we're expecting to start recording some demo tracks and hook up with other bands until we half enough material to play a full 3-4 hour set.

Had a great time playing at "Your Neighborhood Grille" last night with Dave Frisk and Brian Barlett. I will be playing "The Shack" next Saturday (9/22) and will be setting up a bunch of dates for the Reinke Brother's Haunted Mansion which will cover most of October. It's always such a unique and fun experience. Keep an eye on my performance schedule for those dates and more details as I get them. Dave Frisk's official website will also have up-to-date information on all our shows.

Thanks again for everyone's support and I hope to see you soon at one of our upcoming shows!

Blogging is for people with time...

Apparently, blogging is hard to do when you are frantically trying to keep your head above the water... Life has been crazy busy for me, but somehow I manage to keep playing music. Sometimes I'm not sure how I fit it all in, but in the end it always seems to work out OK.

By now, I wanted to be so much further ahead with the blog and websites updates, but I'm sure that's what everyone says during these types of transitions. The way I figure, once I get comfortable with updating this blog, I'll be posting much more frequently. I have to admit, all the available free web tools these days are a lot more efficient then the old ways of having to code it all in HTML, etc. That said, I'm still striving to find a good "one stop shop" that conveniently does everything I need without all the MySpace-type advertising, spam and other "personals" crap that goes along with it. So, I guess I'll give this a try for a while and see how things work out... at least until I find something better. ;)

So what have I been up to? Well, long-story-short, a funeral, a wedding... it's starting to sound like a movie title, isn't it? ... 2+ gigging groups and a couple side recording projects with former band mates. This week alone I've got 3 practices, 2 public performances, and one private party. Not exactly a typical week - it just kind of happened. Oh well, I suppose it's keeping me out of trouble!

In any case, go check out my online performance schedule for upcoming shows. Down Maddie is coming out of the basement again this month (2nd month in a row!) and will be performing with our new friends FishFight and Reckless Red. If you can make it out to the show @ Bushwackers Saloon, we'd love to have you. There's no cover... just a great band line-up and some definite good times to be had by those who can make it. FishFight will be opening up the show at 9 pm, we will be going on around 10, and Reckless Red will finish off the night. Hope to see you there!

First Official Post!

Just figured I'd start... that's usually half the battle, right?

Anyway, here are a couple photos from this year's annual Bailey party. From top to bottom: Lifeline & Down Maddie (with our new vocalist, Jessie).

I hope to have more content soon... thanks for stopping by!
